#BOU17TC | SESSION 5
29 November 2017
UTC 0600 – 0800
#AvianAds at #BOU17TC
This is an open session for individuals, institutes, departments, labs, societies, etc. working in ornithology to promote themselves, their work, current vacancies or upcoming degree projects (open for application).
But here’s the rub . . . you only get one tweet to do it! Think of it as an ornithological business card for people to look up. So use it well.
Your one tweet should contain the two hashtags #BOU17TC and #AvianAds. The latter will be an open tag and anyone can add use the tag to add their ‘card’ at any time. We also strongly advise using the #ornithology tag as this has the largest reach of any avian research tag on Twitter.
Even if you have presented at #BOU17TC you can still take part in #AvianAds, but we hope that many others will do so too.
- Make sure to link to either your Twitter profile, personal webpage, project webpage or similar to send people to what you want them to see.
- Remember to attach an image or graphic to your #AvianAds tweet that helps to illustrate what you do.
- Use hashtags within your tweet appropriate to your research or tweet content, e.g. #seabirds #shorebirds.
- Please tweet for this session during the session times of UTC 0600 – 0730 on 29 November (you can schedule your tweet if its past your bedtime), but outside these times, please tweet only during #BOU17TC breaks, or after the conference itself so as not to impact on any presentation during the conference.
All times are given as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and you will have to check what this corresponds to your local time to follow presentations live. See here for UTC clock and local time converter.
