This award recognises an individual’s science communication excellence in an individual blog post on #theBOUblog.

Submit your nomination(s) here | Deadline 31 January 2020

Anyone is free to nominate another person for this award. We are not accepting self-nominations.

From the scientific blog posts published during 2019, you can nominate your favourite post. Please note:

  • In nominating an individual blog post you will be asked to explain why you think the post is an excellent example of science communication of the ornithological paper covered by the post.
  • You should detail why you think it is a good example of science communication, regardless of the content of the paper.
  • Posts authored by BOU staff, the BOU Blog Editor, BOU Support Officers and BOU Trustees cannot be nominated. Any posts by any of these individuals will not be considered by the Judging Panel.
  • From those nominated posts, the BOU’s Judging Panel will shortlist a maximum of 5 posts based on the details of the nominations and their own assessment of the nominated posts.
  • The 5 shortlisted blog posts will be put to a public vote and that score, combined with blog metrics and the votes of the Judging Panel will be used to select the winner.
