CATEGORIES

Membership Categories:

Ordinary, Sustaining, Life and Honorary Members (and Corresponding Members until the year 2000).

• Ordinary and Sustaining Members may be ornithologists or birdwatchers from any country.
• Life Members are Ordinary and Sustaining Members who have compounded their annual subscriptions or had an unbroken membership for 50 years (after which they are not required to pay any further subscription).
• Honorary Members are elected on grounds of high distinction to ornithology or in services contributing to its advancement. They do not exceed 20 in number.

Election of Members:

Ordinary, Sustaining, Life and Honorary Members are elected by the Council and the names of those elected are published in the Annual Report.

Subscription Rates:

Honorary Members are not required to pay any subscription but have all privileges of membership.
