BOU CONFERENCE PROGRAMMEConferences and one-day meetings co ncentrate on a single theme within ornithology and recent successful meetings have included subjects as diverse as Bioa co ustics, Tropical Forests and Islands , African Birds , Lowland Farmland Birds ( 1999 and 2004 ), Why Museums Matter , Protected Bird Areas in Europe , Birds of Prey in a Changing Environment , Renewable Energy and Birds , Birds and Recreational Disturbance , Woodland Birds and Avian Influenza and other Bird Diseases. Conferences are also social occasions, giving existing friends a chance to meet and catch up with news and for new friendships to be made. The one thing you can always be sure of at a BOU conference, is a warm welcome.
